Driver ploughs a pickup truck through a youth soccer game in Kansas, killing a boy, six, and a man, 35

A 34-year-old woman from Garden City, whose own child was playing on a separate field at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, had two children inside her pickup truck when it veered from the east side of the park onto the pitch. Ten people suffered traumatic injuries serious enough to require hospitalisation, among them five children between the ages of five and nine. She remains in custody and has been cooperating with investigators.

The boy and man who were killed were both from McPherson but were unrelated to each other.

Police Chief Joe Sullivan: 'We know what happened… now we're working… to find out why.'

Bystander parents dragged her from the truck as she reportedly screamed, 'What have I done?!'
