Jenn Biggs Williams, 57, was killed when a tree crashed through the roof of her Pensacola home during Hurricane Isaias on Saturday, leaving her husband Joey trapped with crushed legs beneath the wreckage. Unable to reach his phone, Joey crawled free after 20 to 30 minutes and used his Apple Watch to text his son with the devastating news: 'My wife is gone.' Hurricane Isaias made landfall as a Category 2 storm near Destin, Florida on Friday night with 105mph winds before weakening to a post-tropical cyclone.
The storm has now killed four people across Florida and Alabama, and left more than a million homes without power.
Drone footage captured the roof ripped clean off an apartment complex in Milton, Florida, with furniture and belongings scattered throughout the wreckage.
Joey's stepson spent the morning after the storm cutting down fallen trees in grief: 'I've been dropping trees all morning, crying and carrying on.'
