Woman condemns 'depraved' adults-only section at Liverpool family Halloween park that she says mocked sexual assault

Robyn Doughty, 33, said the optional Hellfire Club at Newsham Scream Park included explicit allusions to sex acts and incest. She had expected 'fun scares' but said it 'felt like a simulation of sexual assault'. Visitors sign a waiver and receive a safe word, though she noted this takes place in a noisy, crowded queue. The park maintains that its terms clearly set out the adult themes and physical interaction involved.

Doughty and a friend used Hellfire Club tickets bought by two 15-year-olds who were refused entry.

She said the website warns of PTSD and anxiety but never mentions sexual content.

Doughty called it 'irresponsible and unjustifiable' and said it 'doesn't belong at a family park'.
