Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios unveiled the 69-room Minecraft World Hotel during a Saturday livestream, with guests set to arrive at Chessington World of Adventures in south-west London in 2027. The four-storey property is part of a £50 million development that will also deliver the world's first Minecraft-themed rollercoaster, Escape the Nether. Merlin creative producer Daisy Mercedes said fans will 'be able to sleep inside' the game, 'ensuring they respawn exactly where they want to be'.
Of the hotel's 69 rooms, 20 are premium and 49 are standard, with corridors designed to resemble mine tunnels and lifts given a Minecraft makeover.
Escape the Nether will take riders through dark mines before they emerge via a Nether portal into the park's outdoor Overworld area.
The broader Minecraft World land will also include an underwater-themed restaurant, a Woodland Mansion bar, block-building play areas and themed retail.
