Xabi Alonso confirms Caicedo is set to return as Chelsea welcome Brighton to Stamford Bridge on Sunday

Moises Caicedo is expected to train on Friday and could feature against Brighton on Sunday, with Alonso revealing no decision has been made on the midfielder's involvement. Levi Colwill and Geovany Quenda are both in contention after being rested for Thursday's Carabao Cup win over Luton. Chelsea are chasing three wins from three to open the Premier League season, having beaten Fulham 3-2 on Monday.

Chelsea's keeper situation remains unresolved, with Alonso refusing to address the Robert Sanchez question publicly until he speaks to his players first.

Emiliano Martinez has joined from Aston Villa for £7.5m, reshaping the goalkeeping pecking order and pushing rookie Mike Penders down the queue.

Wesley Fofana returns from suspension for Sunday's clash, though summer signing Jordan Henderson may need more time before featuring.
