Xabi Alonso says his 'very special' Chelsea striker has yet to play a minute after another injury setback

Emmanuel Emegha, 23, will miss Chelsea's clash with Everton this afternoon after feeling 'a little thing' in training on Thursday. The £21million Dutch striker has not played a competitive minute this season because of a troublesome hamstring. He scored in pre-season friendlies against Crawley and Bromley before getting injured. Alonso says Emegha will train next week but is 'not 100 per cent fit'.

Alonso: at 1.95 metres and quick, Emegha will be 'difficult for the defenders'.

Alonso blocked a late-window loan move for the striker this summer.

A muscle tear cost Emegha four months and 20 games during last season's Strasbourg loan.
