Yemen's Taiz is 'in famine, not on the brink', governor says, as a Houthi siege traps a million people

A Saudi airstrike killed at least 13 people in Taiz on Thursday as Houthi forces blocked food, water and cooking gas from reaching roughly one million residents. The World Food Program says it cannot reach over 600,000 people dependent on aid, with wheat flour stocks nearly exhausted. Hospitals are seeing as many as 700 war casualties a week, with critical shortages of oxygen, medicine and fuel. A pregnant woman shot by a sniper is reportedly losing her unborn child after doctors could not remove the bullet safely.
