Bernard d'Ormale, 85, the last husband of French cinema legend Brigitte Bardot, has been left nothing in her will despite more than three decades together, after a devastating handwritten letter she sent him in 2022 was leaked to Le Figaro. Bardot, who died in December 2025 aged 91, wrote that she desperately needed love, company and tenderness — things she said d'Ormale was "simply incapable" of giving her. Her fortune has instead been split between her son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, 66, and her animal protection foundation.

D'Ormale has been evicted from their Saint-Tropez home, La Madrague, and is now living in a council flat.

His lawyer says he was "treated deplorably"; the foundation insists he has been "well-supported."

The letter alone cannot settle the bitter legal dispute over Bardot's estate, with d'Ormale insisting he wanted a compromise and claiming: 'They're trying to erase me.'
