Polanski refuses to say Israel has a right to exist and will keep 'Zionism is racism' motion until 2028
'I don't think any country has a right to exist,' Zack Polanski told Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, adding that 'people have a right to exist.' The Green leader, who is Jewish and grew up in a Zionist family, called Zionism 'very obviously a racist ideology'. He dismissed a two-state solution as 'for the birds'. He says he disagrees with the motion but will not seek to change it before 2028.
An Ipsos poll gives Polanski a rating of minus 36, the worst of any national leader.
Jewish Greens leader Vivien Lichtenstein has demanded he resign.
Motion signatory Rebecca Jones, a Lewisham Green councillor and GP, is under General Medical Council investigation over a post saying 'Burn Zionism to the ground'.
