Zelensky says Ukraine and Russia could hold US-led peace talks in Abu Dhabi as early as November 10

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine proposed holding talks this Sunday but agreed to wait until after Tuesday's US midterm elections, with November 10 now the likely date. The summit, to be led by a US team in Abu Dhabi, would be the first face-to-face negotiations since Trump lifted sanctions on Moscow, starting at technical level with hopes of paving the way for a trilateral Trump-Zelensky-Putin meeting.
Zelensky warned Trump directly: 'If the United States understands Putin's goal is to destroy us, they can't be on Putin's side.'
Trump enraged Kyiv last week by telling reporters Russia had 'been fine on Ukraine', hours after a one-year-old girl was killed by a drone in Kharkiv.
Zelensky also warned that the midterm result — with Republicans at risk of losing both chambers — will shape how much power Trump has to see any peace deal through.
