Zelenskyy says allies gave no warning before Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv, after latest Trump critique

Russia launched 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones at Ukraine's energy infrastructure overnight, killing at least three people in Kyiv and cutting power to 600,000 Ukrainians — a direct breach of the energy ceasefire Trump declared at the weekend. Zelenskyy said Ukraine received no advance warning from Western allies before the strikes, raising fresh fears that US intelligence-sharing with Kyiv has been curtailed. Ukraine's air defences, already weakened by a shortage of weapons, downed just four of the 39 incoming missiles.
Russia's defence ministry confirmed it struck four power plants in and around Kyiv and two in Kharkiv, with railway facilities targeted across five regions.
When asked whether Russia had violated the ceasefire, Trump told reporters: 'I'll let you know about that later.'
A Ukrainian military adviser separately reported that Elon Musk's Starlink network imposed overnight speed restrictions that disrupted battlefield missions, calling it 'not a coincidence.'
