Alisha Samuels was also hospitalised in the Newton Heath stabbing that killed the woman, 26, as three remain in custody

A man was taken to hospital after being injured in the same 2am attack on Dorking Avenue, Newton Heath, that left Alisha Samuels, 26, stabbed to death on Thursday — a detail emerging as Greater Manchester Police's murder investigation enters its second day. A 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and two others held on suspicion of assisting an offender all remained in custody on Friday morning. Police have erected multiple forensic tents across the cordoned-off scene, with Edmonton Road and part of Briscoe Lane still closed.
Neighbours reported hearing screaming and a car attempting to flee before crashing, with one resident claiming it tried to smash into a police van.
A close friend of Alisha's wrote on Facebook: 'Best friends til death do us part. Sisters.'
Detectives are urging anyone with CCTV, doorbell or mobile footage from Dorking Avenue around 2am Thursday to submit it via the Major Incident Public Portal.
